The 3:00 AM "Locked Out Pilot"
|
My client hit a system failure this morning... It wasn't the kids or the wife waking him up. It was a "Thought Train" moving so fast he couldn't jump off. He was lying perfectly still, but his heart was racing like he was in a sprint. He was sweating. He felt like a prisoner in his own bed. Paralyzed by a work problem he couldn't solve from under a heavy duvet. When your brain's red-lining like this, you've lost the controls. You're watching the plane dive, but you can't reach the stick. This is a system failure. It's not a failure of your mind. It's a failure of your mechanics. If you're feeling that friction right now, you need to spot the leak. I use the Daily Domino Scorecard to show you exactly where your momentum is stuck. You can't fix what you can't see. You can't fix what you can't see. When you're in this loop, your thoughts are like train cars slammed together in a wreck. Work, panic, and self-doubt are fused into one jagged mass. There’s no space to breathe. The more you try to think your way out, the tighter the lock-up gets. The fix isn't thinking. It's mechanics. Your breath is your "Manual Override." A slow, steady exhale is a physical wedge you jam between those spinning cars. It’s the only way to decouple the thoughts and create room to breathe. If you can't see the space between your thoughts, you'll never be in control of them. Next time you're the "Locked Out Pilot," don't try to solve the problem. Just find the gap.
PS: Jagger can punch now... great. He was testing the gap between my thoughts and my reaction this morning. I stayed calm... My eye still hurts, but I didn't lose my cool. That’s the power of the first domino. If you want to see if your energy's redlining or if you're ready to lead your home with power, grab your Daily Domino Scorecard. It takes three minutes to find your lead domino. |
